The John Chisholm suite is the largest in the Inn. Hand-hewn chestnut beams, poplar plank walls over oak logs, custom-milled woodwork, plus authentic paints and hardware take you back to the late 18th century.  Furnishings include a Bernhardt empire style king size bed with custom mattress.  A large sitting room features two comfortable armchairs and a desk.  $125 per day, double occupancy.

John Chisholm figured prominently in national and local politics and was among the earliest settlers in Jonesborough.

The Rebecca Chester room features Greene County furnishings from the early 1800's including an armoire and spool bed with double mattress.  There is a walnut writing desk, empire period chair, and private, enclosed balcony with seating for a cup of coffee or a private conversation.  The walls and beams are original to the early 1800's and the floor is tulip poplar.  $85 per day, double occupancy.

Rebecca Chester's family lived at the Inn in the early 1800's.  Her famous painting of Jonesborough hangs in the state museum.

The Daniel Burgess Barkley suite offers a separate living area and bedroom with queen-size four-poster bed.  The log walls and walnut floors are original to the house, dating back to the late 1700's.  The furnishings include a settee, writing desk, and plenty of room to unwind.  $115 per day, double occupancy.

The Barkley family, like the Chisholm's, had a tradition of inn keeping.  Daniel opened the Inn at the Green Tree in 1825.  The Inn stayed in the Barkley family for 170 years.

All accommodations offer climate control, private baths, ample seating, desks for writing or laptops, cable TV, internet, and large closets for stowing gear.  Special arrangements can be made for mountain biking tours, hiking in the Appalachians, water rafting, and other scenic excursions.  Local golf courses are ranked among the top ten nationally.  The historic district of Jonesborough, the first town established outside of the original 13 colonies, offers fine dining and antiquing, gourmet food, a chocolatier, plus many clothing and gift boutiques.  Other activities include live music on the square, art and story festivals, a 4th of July fireworks display to match any other, and wonderful seasonal activities at all holidays.
